İDDMİB — Istanbul Ferrous & Non-Ferrous Metals Exporters' Association

An exporters’ association is a publisher, a member registry and a service desk at once. Its announcements are acted on commercially, so availability and accuracy are not presentation concerns — and a body coordinating some $13bn of annual export volume cannot have its content team waiting on a developer to publish.

We built the platform on Laravel with MySQL, giving the association’s own team control of publication, and extended the same content to Android and iOS with Flutter so members reach it from where they already are. Security and reliability were treated as build requirements rather than as a later hardening pass.

The association publishes without a release cycle, and the same announcement reaches the web and the member’s phone together. The platform has been live since 2024. Publishing sits with the association’s own content team, so the institution’s agenda is not held to a developer’s calendar: an announcement goes out when it is ready. Web and mobile read the same content layer, so the two cannot drift apart — a member sees the same text whichever they open. Accessibility and accuracy were treated as requirements from the outset rather than as a later hardening pass.

We built a Laravel-based platform for İDDMİB, the association representing Istanbul's ferrous and non-ferrous metals exporters. The system needed to be secure, highly customizable, and reliable enough for an institution coordinating an industry-wide export volume of roughly $13 billion a year. Alongside the web platform, we shipped companion Flutter apps for Android and iOS so members could reach the same tools on mobile.
